Greetings,
Welcome to the Seattle Young Artists Music Festival Association. As we celebrate our 50th year in 2022, we look back with gratitude to our founders (Corry Celli, Randolph Hokanson, Michiko Miyamoto, Helen Taverniti and Willard Schultz) for creating an organization dedicated to raising and enhancing the level of music education of the young students in our community. Over these 50 years, SYAMFA has grown into one of the premier educational performance festivals in the country. We are honored to invite young musicians in the greater Seattle area to perform for, and learn from, prestigious national musicians and educators. The small master classes offered during Festival Week give every student a chance to grow and develop both musically and personally.
SYAMFA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with an all-volunteer Board and Music Advisory Panel. It is the dedication, creativity and determination of these volunteers that keep the Festival going and growing from year to year. They bring their business, academic, and artistic knowledge and abilities to our organization because they love music and they see first-hand the enormous educational benefit the students receive during our Festival week. If you are interested in participating on the board or in a short-term capacity during Festival week, please contact us at [email protected].
The operational costs of the Festival are substantial. We work hard to keep class fees as low as possible, but this means that we rely on the donations from people like you to help defray the expenses required to run the Festival. We would greatly appreciate any donation you can make.
We are looking forward to another great festival year and wish all our participants the very best.
Thank you,
Jane Miyamoto-Dell’Isola
President
